Are you excited by the idea of a mobile application for Canberrans, that makes it easier, cheaper, social and fun for us to reduce our carbon footprints and connect to local eco-friendly products, services and community initiatives?

If so, then add your name and email, and leave a comment of support below. We'll compile these and include them in our grant application to the ACT Government. Applications close by 5pm Monday, 24 July, so be quick to leave your comment and share this with your friends before the deadline!

***UPDATE*** We are happy to announce we were successful in our application and have been awarded $25,000 in funding from the ACT Community Zero Emissions grant program! Thanks to everyone who left messages of support and encouragement on this page.

If you have suggestions for what you'd like to see in the app - we want to hear them! Feel free to include them in your comments below.

I have constant guilt about not doing enough to reduce my carbon footprint, so anything to help me incorporate more environmentally responsible habits into my daily life is welcome. Not merely welcome, in fact, but an urgent necessity.

Behaviour change is essential to reducing our impact, both directly and by creating conditions for greater collective action. The ACT Government should support projects such as this application that seek to trial and amplify opportunities to make positive personal changes.

Reducing barriers between the way people behave and the way people would like to behave is the key barrier in achieving positive environmental outcomes. The Neighbourhood Effect’s work in this area is very exciting and I really hope to live in a society where brave, positive initiatives like these can be properly-funded.

An app which has tips for relevant ways to reduce carbon emissions, save water and minimise waste would be great.

Something which lists local businesses and co-operarives who are fair trade/organic/vegan/socially inclusive etc would be handy as a phone/tablet appso that I could engage more easily with businesses who are moving our community in the right direction.
